This week I want to talk about some lessons I have learnt from taking note of how successful people plan and implement.
As 2025 draws ever closer, I am starting to look back at how 2024 has played out and I'll be taking some 'big learns' with me in to the new year.
Here are four ways I think we can all benefit by learning from others to make meaningful progress in the right direction.
An entrepreneur often thinks big, sets ambitious goals and wants to take on the world. I have been guilty of letting thoughts like this run away with me, but the key to success here is in how you take the path ahead of you.
At first it may not be obvious, but with some time and careful thinking you can normally break it down in to smaller steps.
Making steady progress like this helps to prevent the paralysis which can often come from facing an overwhelmingly large task.
So when setting your goals for the year ahead start with this:
Identify your most ambitious goal and break it down in to weekly or monthly milestones. Track your progress in smaller chunks, to chip away at the bigger picture.
Success rarely comes from sporadic bursts of effort. The most successful business owners understand the value of consistent action and regular review.
Stick to your plans diligently, but be willing to make minor adjustments as needed based on ongoing reviews.
A great way to do this is establish a proper routine for reviewing your progress every week. Use this time to celebrate any wins and fine-tune your approach as required.
Time is your most precious resource. Top performers have mastered the art of prioritisation, focusing their energy on tasks that drive the most significant results.
They're not afraid to eliminate or delegate activities that don't contribute substantially to their main objectives.
Conduct an audit of your daily activities. Identify the top three tasks that have the most significant impact on your business goals and prioritise these.

Rapid change and emerging opportunities are rife.
The most successful entrepreneurs have honed their ability to pivot quickly, seizing new chances as they arise while remaining true to their core business vision.
Set aside time each month to look around at your competitors for new trends or opportunities. Consider how you might adapt your business model to capitalise on any changes.
I have a recurring calendar event for things like this to ensure I keep focused and don't forget.
By incorporating these strategies into your business approach you'll be well-positioned to level up in 2025 and beyond.
Success isn't about reinventing the wheel, but rather about consistently making small steps in the right direction.
If you want to dive deeper into these concepts and learn how to apply them effectively in your business then join me at my upcoming workshop, in person in Southampton. We'll spend 90 minutes exploring these strategies in detail and I'll provide you with practical tools for implementation.
