Doing What You Never Thought Was Possible

Doing What You Never Thought Was Possible

April 08, 20253 min read

Do you ever look back at something you’ve achieved and think…

"I never thought I could do that."

It might’ve been a big moment like landing your dream client, hiring your first employee or launching something new.

Or it might’ve been something quieter such as saying no to the wrong customer, raising your prices or finally taking a proper day off.

Whatever it was, at some point it probably felt out of reach.

And then you did it.

That feeling - doing something you once thought was impossible is so so powerful.

It’s the kind of shift that makes you think: “Hang on, what else am I underestimating myself on?”

The challenge as far as I see it is that when you're stuck in the day-to-day, it’s hard to see those opportunities.

You get stuck in the weeds. You're reacting, not building. And before long, you're too busy to see what’s really possible.

I don't think clarity is about working harder. It’s about stepping back. It's about giving yourself permission to reset. Creating space to think differently.

This week I would like to share a few practical ways that help me to do exactly that:

Start with a blank sheet
Spend 90 minutes away from your screen. No notifications. No to-do list.
Ask yourself:
If I could rebuild my business from scratch, what would I keep, start, or stop?
What’s been draining me lately?
What do I want the next 90 days to feel like (not just look like)?

(I do this once a quarter and will be doing it again next month when I am on holiday, away from the normal distractions.)

Track the “impossible” things you’ve already done
You’ve already overcome challenges your past self would’ve found overwhelming.
List 3-5 of those moments. Remind yourself what it took and what it proved.

Then ask: What’s my next version of that?

(My partner is great at pointing these out for me, I think sometimes it can be hard to look at ourselves like this.)

Design one bold move
What’s one move - small but brave - that would move your business forward this week?
That might be:
– Reaching out to a partnership opportunity
– Testing a price rise to your next prospect
– Delegating a task that’s not the best use of you

(Delegation I think is key - even if you are a one man band you can still delegate.)

The trick is to act before your brain talks you out of it.

If any of this speaks to you - and you’d like a bit of help creating more clarity, momentum and progress in your business - then my 45 minute free strategy call might be the perfect next step.

It’s designed to give you a taste of how much more is possible when you’ve got the right structure and the right focus.

You don’t need to burn everything down.
You just need to take a smarter step forward.

Here’s where to start

You’ve already done more than you thought you could.

So make the next 90 days the most intentional yet.

Let me know what you will implement?

P.S. Here's an excerpt from a testimonial I got recently - thank you Karen!

"For anyone feeling stuck in their business and in need of guidance, I wholeheartedly encourage you to book a session with Dan and consider him as your business coach. His experience, knowledge, and passion for helping you succeed will undoubtedly lead to great results."
